What NEVER to say if you want them to return your call!

Secondly, people often try the “Emergency” tactic… “Josh, You have to call me as soon as you get this.  This is an emergency.”  Now it probably isn’t that hard to see what is wrong with both of these approaches. One is pretty bad and the other is absolutely awful! It makes your ex not trust you and makes you look desperate.

The Magic of Using Curiosity and Self Interest…

These are two powerful forces which we all share.  Using either of these on their own is powerful but when you combine the two of them, you have a magical recipe that works every time.

Now, this is almost exactly what you should say, word for word.  Don’t change the script too much.  Wait a few days from your last message as well, if you’ve been barraging them.  This works every time…

You want to say it in a casual and friendly tone, “Hi Josh, This is Sarah.  Just so you know, I really appreciate what you did for me.  Call me so I can thank you in person.”

Is it obvious to see how this will raise their curiosity and self interest? We all like to be thanked, it builds our self esteem.  Josh will wondering, “what did I do?” and “what does she appreciate?”  Not knowing will drive him crazy.

Now before you even think about making this call you need to make a proper set up.  Figure out what is is that you appreciate.  It can be small but it must be believable.

I want to tell you again, you don’t want to get back in contact with them unless it is part of your total strategy. I have never seen a strategy laid out like…
